Financial Times Long List

Posted on September 10, 2012 in In the News

This year’s Long List for the Financial Times Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year Award is an impressive one.  Several extremely timely themes run through this year’s 16 titles, including analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of U.S. corporate, economic and financial systems, discussing whether the U.S. is slipping out of its dominant role in the global economy, and even a seeming loss of faith in capitalism.

The list includes some excellent books and authors that Hooks Book Events has had the privilege to work with this year:

  • What Money Can’t Buy: The Moral Limits of Markets by Michael Sandel
  • Standing on the Sun: How the Explosion of Capitalism Abroad Will Change Business Everywhere by Christopher Meyer and Julia Kirby
  • The Hour Between Dog and Wolf: Risk-taking, Gut Feelings and the Biology of Boom and Bust) by John Coates

Hooks Book Events would like to congratulate these authors for this well-deserved recognition.

We may still be able to arrange events for your company with one of these authors or with another author on the Long List (click here to see all 16). Please call or email if you are interested in pursuing one of these ideas.

Also, stay tuned! We will let you know which books make the Short List, to be chosen on September 15, and the winner of the FT Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year 2012, to be announced in New York on November 1!
