After a decade of experience hosting author events for well-known government and corporate clients, Hooks Book Events (HBE) is expanding to engage disconnected and disenfranchised communities through Bridge Builder programs. In partnership with non-profit community partners and award-winning authors, HBE will host private events at five DC area schools.

Why We’re Doing It

The cultural divide in America is widening. HBE believes in the power of infusing ideas to engage, inform and inspire. HBE has seen firsthand how an idea can ignite passion and connect people. For the past decade our book events have engaged a small fraction of the American public. In the next ten years, HBE wants to narrow the cultural gap by hosting events with clients that involve diverse audience.

Who’s Involved

We’re in the process of recruiting a roster of best-selling authors to join partner with us. Each and every thought leader is committed to narrowing the cultural gap that exists in America today. In this way writers – and their ideas – have the power to inspire and transform communities. They have the power to connect and to bridge the divisions that exist. We are more similar than we are different.

Our authors are influencing America’s leaders and key decision makers every day. We think they have the untapped potential to influence the young, the wounded, the old, and the undiscovered CEO. The topics of the day are just as relevant to high school sophomore in Anacostia as they are to a senior executive at the Department of Treasury.
